North East council partnership hands over first street of homes
Refurbished to the Group standard and leased ready-to-let, with compliance run across the term.

The Affordable Homes For Life Group has handed over its first street of homes under a North East council partnership — acquired, refurbished to the Group standard, and leased ready-to-let so residents move into homes that are right from day one.
It is the operating model in one street: bring existing homes up to standard, lease them to councils and Registered Providers, and hold them for the long term rather than selling them on.
How the model works
- Homes acquired and brought up to the Decent Homes Standard.
- Leased ready-to-let to the council and its residents.
- Compliance and condition run across the whole term.
- Homes held for the long term, never sold to the open market.
If you are a council or Registered Provider, the partnerships team can talk through what a conversation looks like.
